Lencho is a hard working farmer he has a firm belief in GOD. He expects for a rain shower to nourish his field of corn so that his harvest could yield him huge profits just like it does every year as he expected rainfall did happen but sooner, it turned into a hailstorm resulting in destroying the entire crop which posed a threat to the family survival. lencho was disheartened but he had a robust faith in GOD. he seeks the help from the GOD , he writes a letter to GOD to send him 100 pesos. he went to town to post his letter addressed “to GOD” when the letter being noticed by the postmaster , he breaks out laughing at first but Immediately he turned serious and decided not to shake the writers faith for this, the postmaster contributes from his salary and collect money from his colleagues and friends as an act of charity he could only collect 70 pesos which he wrapped in an envelope to make it seem like a reply from the GOD on having found the letter, Lencho does not surprise at all Instead he became angry on counting the money.
He again writes a letter to GOD to send him the remaining 30 pesos directly instead of sending through the mail.he shows distrust in the employees of the post office whom . he called a bunch of crooks .
